Neverend Clocks featured in Dwell Magazine

June 28, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Kitsune Noir & Magazine & Neverend

I gotta’ say, this has been a pretty good year for myself and the blog. My first big accomplishment was having an art show, and now my second notch on the bed post is being featured in Dwell… well, the Neverend Clocks I collaborated on with Furni Creations and Dan Funderburgh. I’ve been reading Dwell magazine since just about the time it started and it’s slightly surreal and amazing to see Kitsune Noir written in there. A big thanks to Kyle Blue and Sam Grawe who may or may not have had anything to do with it.

And just as a heads there will be more clocks coming out in the coming months, we’re just taking a little break for the moment. But I can tell you the next two artists will make you poop yourself… yes, poop.

Neverend: A Designer Clock Series with UPSO

April 30, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Design & Kitsune Noir & Neverend

I’m really happy to announce the second edition of Neverend, my little endeavor with Furni, and this month we’re proud to be working with UPSO. This is by far one of the most amazing clocks I’ve ever seen, but amazing in a different way from our first edition with Dan Funderburgh. This time the “face” of the clock is that of UPSO’s while the two parts of his mustache are the hands of the clock. We’ve also got two colorways yet again, this time around is a bright ass yellow, which is so very UPSO, as well as a natural version for the purists out there.

Here are the details:
- Limited edition of 88 / 44 natural & 44 yellow
- Measure 16″ high x 9″ wide / These are HUGE!
- Laser cut, black acrylic hands
- Solid birch body, handcrafted in Canada
- Battery operated
- Ships Globally

I have to give a big thanks to UPSO for making such an outrageous clock. I know I’m biased because I had something to do with this but I think this is so clever and amazing. You can get one for yourself for $198 and purchasing it in the Furni Online Shop.

How To Make A Neverend Clock

April 6, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Neverend & Video

My cohort Mike over at Furni made this awesome little video showing a bit of the process that goes into making one of our Neverend clocks. Not being on the production side of things I was excited to see just what Mike exactly does, cuz’ as far as I know it’s all just magic and elves. But as you’ll see Mike puts a lot of hard work into making one of these puppies with his laser vision… ok, just seeing if you’re still reading.

We still have some left so if you’d like to snag one click here.

Neverend: A Designer Clock Series with Dan Funderburgh

March 24, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Design & Kitsune Noir & Neverend

The one thing I love most about this blog is the friendships I’ve created over the years. Sure, this sounds kind of corny, but with these friendships I get to help dream up some pretty amazing stuff. With that, I’d like to introduce my newest project Neverend, an ongoing designer clock series.

Through random circumstances I was introduced to a guy named Mike Giles who runs a design/build company called Furni. Mike and I hit it off and wanted to figure out a way to collaborate together on something cool. Through Furni Mike has created a ton of awesome looking clocks, so we knew that’s where we’d start. I then added together the curation of artists and designers I enjoyed, reaching out to my friends to create custom graphics for the clocks. The final piece was Mike buying a laser etcher, and since then we’ve been working and refining the idea of Neverend for more than a year now. It’s been a long process but we couldn’t be more happy with the results.

Like I mentioned this is going to be ongoing, as in monthly, and to kick things off we’ve got a design from the brilliant Dan Funderburgh. Mr. Funderburgh has been my homie for a while now so he was on my immediate list of contributors. Then when I saw the design he submitted I absolutely freaked out at how beautiful it was. He’s basically taken the Bavarian cuckoo clock style, strapped on some sticks of dynamite and given you a contemporary take on an old classic.

Here are the details:
- Limited edition of 88 / 44 natural & 44 black
- Measure 16″ high x 9″ wide / These are HUGE!
- Laser cut acylic hands are reversible, come in black and white
- Solid birch body, handcrafted in Canada
- Battery operated
- Ships Globally

The clocks retail for $198 and can only be purchased through Furni’s Online Shop.
I’d suggest ordering as fast you can as I have an idea that these are going to sell out quite quickly. There will be a brand new artist and a new design every month, so if you miss out there will be more chances.

For more detailed shots check under the cut.
