Neverend Clocks featured in Dwell Magazine

June 28, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Kitsune Noir & Magazine & Neverend

I gotta’ say, this has been a pretty good year for myself and the blog. My first big accomplishment was having an art show, and now my second notch on the bed post is being featured in Dwell… well, the Neverend Clocks I collaborated on with Furni Creations and Dan Funderburgh. I’ve been reading Dwell magazine since just about the time it started and it’s slightly surreal and amazing to see Kitsune Noir written in there. A big thanks to Kyle Blue and Sam Grawe who may or may not have had anything to do with it.

And just as a heads there will be more clocks coming out in the coming months, we’re just taking a little break for the moment. But I can tell you the next two artists will make you poop yourself… yes, poop.

This Is An Invitation: Drinks and Fun in Portland

June 26, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Food & Drinks & Kitsune Noir

About a week ago I mentioned I’d be in Portland and I wanted to throw a little party, so with the help of some friends up here I’m having a little get together at Aalto Lounge and you, my lovely, amazing readers, are all invited. I know it’s short notice but if you’re free from 7PM onward then come on out and grab a drink with me! The party will go on into the wee hours of the night, so if you can’t be there early it’s not a problem.

3356 SE Belmont St
Portland, OR 97214 (map)

Come out and say hi, meet tons of great creative folks, and have some yummy drinks with me!

Visiting Portland

June 21, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Kitsune Noir

On Wednesday night I’ll be travelling to the fine city of Portland for a little R&R as well as to visit all the artsy friends I’ve made over the years. I haven’t been to Portland in over 15 years so I’m extremely excited to explore the city and see what everyone’s talking about. I know a lot of things to do there but I’m reaching out to you for suggestions of places I should visit. I’ll be staying in the Southeast part of the city so I’d prefer suggestions around there. So please let me know in the comments of happening places and yummy eateries!

Also, I’ll be having a get together of sorts somewhere in the city on Saturday night, so if you’re in the Portland area save the date and I’ll update with more information soon. I’m hoping to give away some free stuff but you’ll have to show up in order to see!

Staying at The Mercer

May 14, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Design & Kitsune Noir

Currently I’m sitting in my room at The Mercer writing this and I feel amazingly lucky. To be completely honest I was given the room to stay at in The Mercer while I was out here for the ICFF, and it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. It’s still amazing to me that I created this blog over 3 years ago and that I’m getting these amazing opportunities like staying in a crazy hotel like this. If someone told me 3 years ago that I’d be sitting here I would have told them they were nuts.

Anyhow, I’ve posted some photos of my room and the lobby of the hotel. And to be clear, I’m in no way obligated to do say or write any of this, I just really wanted to share this with you because I think it’s so rad. So far everyone has been amazingly courteous, their bar and bar staff were extremely helpful and the room is stupid amazing. I have doors in my bedroom area that open to my two person bathtub… so ridiculous.

This is just the first in series of NY posts I’ll be doing. There are a ton of great little places to check out around here so I’ll be updating over the weekend as well. There will also be some posts while I’m at ICFF so there’s going to be lots of fun stuff to check out. Sorry if this posts come off like bragging, but this is currently where my life is and I like sharing.

Neverend: A Designer Clock Series with UPSO

April 30, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Design & Kitsune Noir & Neverend

I’m really happy to announce the second edition of Neverend, my little endeavor with Furni, and this month we’re proud to be working with UPSO. This is by far one of the most amazing clocks I’ve ever seen, but amazing in a different way from our first edition with Dan Funderburgh. This time the “face” of the clock is that of UPSO’s while the two parts of his mustache are the hands of the clock. We’ve also got two colorways yet again, this time around is a bright ass yellow, which is so very UPSO, as well as a natural version for the purists out there.

Here are the details:
- Limited edition of 88 / 44 natural & 44 yellow
- Measure 16″ high x 9″ wide / These are HUGE!
- Laser cut, black acrylic hands
- Solid birch body, handcrafted in Canada
- Battery operated
- Ships Globally

I have to give a big thanks to UPSO for making such an outrageous clock. I know I’m biased because I had something to do with this but I think this is so clever and amazing. You can get one for yourself for $198 and purchasing it in the Furni Online Shop.
