I like the idea of a calendar without any dates, ones that you can reuse because they mark time without being about specific time. That’s why Young America Creative‘s Seasonal Fruit & Vegetable Poster isn’t called a calendar: it keeps time every year, telling you which fruits are and are not fresh. It’s very beautiful, too.
The piece is a 13′ X 19′ poster printed on a two hundred year old press. It incorporates white, gold, and clear debossings and illustrations of a fruit or vegetable corresponding to each month. It helps to mark seasons and remind you that, yes, there is always something fresh and in season regardless of what time of year it actually is. The piece is incredibly simplistic and doesn’t overwhelm you with information: it is a clear articulation, designed to get you just the facts.
Do note that the poster does correspond with Bay Area/California’s West in terms of harvest guide (which is how we found it, while stopping into a local flower store). We’re sure if you live in a similar climate that it could be of use and, if anything, it might just be beautiful to look at on your wall. You can see and purchase the print here.
