During the week I came across the work of Japanese illustrator Ryo Takemasa (thanks Grain Edit). Ryo lives in Tokyo where he has been working as a freelance illustrator since 2010. His work covers everything from editorial project to books, magazines and advertisements. For me, it’s his personal work that I find the most interesting. Here you’ll see images inspired from all over the globe; from the London underground to the open-air baths at Nagano.
It’s a wonderful assortment of places and people and Ryo’s great compositions give these popular locations a new and distinctive style. You can see more work from Ryo (including his illustrated editorial work, advertisements, books and magazine covers) on her website here. Go check it out!
