Swedish illustrator Martin Nicolausson is a graphic designer and illustrator with abstract sensibilities. He creates pieces made up of these really odd, colorful shapes that are usually shaded just so, giving them a depth and texture at please the eye. I actually think his self-written bio is a spot on way to describe to describe his approach.
Drawing as much inspiration from the past as from the future, his work is a combination of digital and analogue with equal amounts nostalgia and bold vision.
He also employs a rather spot-on color palette, a trait that often I often find myself envying in other artists. I think it might be a Nordic thing as Hvass&Hannibal have a similar, equally enviable knack for color. You can explore through more of his work by clicking here.
