There’s nothing I love more than seeing artists and illustrators sharing their personal projects online. I feel that the internet has been really great for pushing people to share this type of work and it also really encourages them to keep it up. The social-side of the internet has been tremendous for giving people that little extra nudge and its really helped them to let their personal projects continue, grow and expand.
Currently one of my favorite personal projects is by Dadu Shin and it’s called I don’t like clothes. I’m a big fan of the New York-based illustrators work (which we featured on here before) and it’s exciting to see his unique style taken to the world of fashion. Originally not a fan of clothes (hence the project’s name), he’s recently grown an interest in it and the results are terrific.
“I thought fashion was incredibly snobbish and shallow” he once said when asked by Squid Face and the Meddler in an interview. Fortunately he’s now seen past that and every now and again he shares some really fantastic work on his blog. His designs are unique and beautiful and I particularly love the colors and patterns that he creates. I for one would love to see some of these drawing come to life on the catwalk!
