I’m a big fan of Roman Muradov’s work so I thought I’d share some of it with you guys today. Over the years the San Francisco based illustrator and cartoonist has clocked up an array of impressive clients, working with people like the New Yorker, the New York Times, GQ and the Wall Street Journal.
I think his style is fantastically unique, it’s filled with a great sense of rhythm and enriched with a touch of chaos not unlike jazz. For me it’s his use of color that draws me in. Palettes of purples and reds, browns and oranges. It’s just perfect!
As well as editorial work, Roman is also a talented comic book artist and for the last 4 years he’s been producing a number of mini-comics. This fall he’ll be releasing two new books, (In A Sense) Lost & Found with Nowbrow Press and Picnic Ruined with Retrofit Comics. Both of them look fantastic and I can’t wait to see them released. It’s going to be great to have a little more Roman Muradov in the world!
