There’s something alluring about a well-designed hotel that will always grab my attention. Perhaps it’s the allure of hotels themselves, the glamour of staying in a luxurious space, the mystery of who may be staying there? Whatever it may be, the Prahran Hotel in Melbourne hits all the right notes for me.
The project was completed by Techne Architects who’s role was to revitalize the art deco vibes of this old hotel into something new and fresh. To add that freshness they utilized giant concrete pipes which brings a sense of drama to the building that wasn’t previously there. The combination of the art deco and the contemporary is a stellar match, one that I’m sure is gaining the attention of locals and tourists alike.
