Nike’s latest collaboration with Liberty of London departs from the usual floral print and enters digital image territory. Entitled the Pixel Pack, the new collection introduces the Virtual Light Liberty print which was culled from screen projections. Inspired by the work of artist Tim Head, the enlarged pixels now adorn four Nike styles too.
Though Nike is always considerate about offering diverse styles for each of their Liberty collections, this pixel print is the first that doesn’t immediately scream “Liberty!” Rendered in two versions—navy blue and burgundy—and originating from a screen grab of a projection, the finished print looks like a cross between paint splatters and intricate needlepoint. It’s more masculine in feel and available in Air Max 1, Free 5.0, Bruin Lite and Dunk Sky H. And, as usual, they already seem to be running out. Thus, check out the collection here.
