I’m a sucker for a good pattern, and Liberty of London, who’s teamed up with Levi’s, has killed it with this new pattern design for their collaboration collection. The pattern was inspired by a piece by Liberty from the 70’s, recreated with watercolor pencils and set into a repeat pattern that adorns some of Levi’s classic silhouettes.
I was able to see the collection in person at the Levi’s showroom here in Los Angeles, and when I Instagrammed a photo of one of the bags, I received so much good feedback that I wanted to feature it here. As you can see in the images below they’ve found ways of working the pattern into every piece, sometimes overt and sometimes extremely subtle.
My personal favorite is the anorak, which is featured in the middle below. The combination of chambrays paired with the floral pattern is a stunner. It’s the combination of boy-ish proportions mixed with the gentle but brightly colored floral pattern is too good to pass up.
