Saddle is a beautiful prototype chair designed by Norwegian designers Christoffer Angell, Oyvind Wyller and Simen Aarseth as part of their collective Angell, Wyller & Aarseth. Released last year, the trio rather accurately describe the chair as being modest and friendly, and highlight how solid it is but also the softness of the chairs nest-like design.
For me I think there’s a real beauty in the chair’s simplicity and I’m particularly taken by its twin side-pockets. These would be ideal for holding books, magazines, tablets, and television remotes. Unfortunately I have no details yet on whether or not the chair has ever been commercially manufactured, but it really is a great looking design. The Norwegian trio have created some beautiful work over the last few years and it’s well worth visiting their site to see what else they’ve designed.
