I’ve become recently acquainted with the work of London based illustrator and designer Spiros Halaris, and I’m a big fan of what I see. His illustration style reminds me of somewhere between Thomas Nagel and that video for A-Ha’s “Take On Me”, which I’m saying is a really good thing.
His work is centered around three broad categories – fashion illustration, type, and still life drawing – but he’s a master of each, as you’ll see in the images below. I love the little vignettes he creates, like the scene at the top of the post, which make you feel like you’ve stumbled upon some rich old man’s cabana on a private beach somewhere. His hand drawn type (see more here) is also quite wonderful, lovingly incorporated into a lot of his pieces (I’m nuts for the New Yorker specimens below).
Spiros overall is an extremely talented man, and I recommend taking a tour of the rest of his work by clicking here.
