What if it took you only 7 minutes to get a full body workout? That’s the claim of an article in the May-June issue of the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health & Fitness Journal, which shows the health benefits of doing the 12 exercises above in rapid succession.
Work by scientists at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and other institutions shows, for instance, that even a few minutes of training at an intensity approaching your maximum capacity produces molecular changes within muscles comparable to those of several hours of running or bike riding.
I have yet to try this, but I think I’m going to start tonight. It sounds so easy, only 7 minutes, but the 7 minutes are meant to be grueling, like an 8 out of 10 on the uncomfortable scale. So I guess it’s a matter of preference, whether you’d go slow and steady or kill yourself in 7 seconds. Anyone else thinking about trying this out?
