Smiling strawberries, swirling swimming pools, and the most colorful motorcycle ever—this is the work of Ellie Andrews. Encapsulating the feeling of endless summer, the East London illustrator infuses her artwork with geometric shapes and vivid imagery that nods to ’90s culture. Detailed and witty, it’s easy to be won over by her hand drawn spirit.
As a recent graduate of the Camberwell College of Arts, Andrews has worked on poster design for Nike as well as taken on editorial work, but she’s relatively new to the illustrator landscape. I came across her work on Tumblr and was drawn to the clashing colors and bold images of poolside drinks, nail art, and her take on cover design for Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World. She designed a limited edition risograph print for Beach London, featuring beach bodies rendered in hot pink and sepia tones. And though it appears she doesn’t have an online store selling her work yet, she says you can absolutely “holla” at her here.
