Last week the Berlin-based illustrator Heather Gatley updated her portfolio and boy does it have some great work in it! Heather has a style that combines skilled draftsmanship and beautiful mark-making effortlessly and it’s little wonder that she has attracted clients like The Times, Penguin Books and BBC World over the last few years.
Her work is made from a combination of handmade techniques and digital processes; bringing together pencils, inks, collage and paint to create wonderfully fresh illustrations. I’m really fond of her illustrations of buildings and particularly the series of illustrations she worked on for a series of books by Paul Theroux. Go check out her new website here.
