I’m pretty smitten over this lovely little home called “The Brick Loft”, located in the Joo Chiat area in Singapore. The home was created by FARM, who consider themselves “a cross disciplinary design practice”, which I think is awesome. The space used to be a dingy office space, surprisingly, but now it’s filled with light thanks to an open design of the floorplan and two louvered windows at the rooftop.
What gives the space that extra bit of character are the custom detailing they put into details like the brick wall outside of the patio and the laser cut metal folding doors in the kitchen. Those elements tie in together so nicely with the beautiful spiral staircase which mimics the looks of bricks. This is one of those rare spaces that feel minimal but still extremely livable. Nothing seems too precious or clean, it feels like a space where you could grab a book and a bloody mary and chill out on a Sunday morning.
