When I came across the paintings of Brad Woodfin I easily spent 20 minutes straight simply pouring over his work. Woodfin, currently living in Montreal, went to school at The Evergreen State College studying printmaking and painting, and it’s seemed to pay off quite well. His style seems to me like something you might see in a painting from the Renaissance, a stark canvas of black with the bright figure of some exotic animal emerging from the shadows. A lot of his pieces feature birds, though he also dabbles in mammals, even painting a beluga whale. He’s got lots of work on his portfolio site, definitely check out the rest of his beautiful work.

  1. So beautiful and haunting. Just got back from NYC and visited the Natural History Museum. His paintings remind me so much of the eeriness of the dioramas. So cool. Nice job finding this!

  2. Brad is truly amazing – one of my favorite artists. His work is classic yet contemporary. Thanks for spreading the word.

I love this simple, ceramic lunch kit by Lorea Sinclaire, a nice take on the bento box. http://t.co/iFp5DivY
