‘Coucou Anne’ by Musette

Joel Danell (aka Musette)

Following on from Bobby’s post earlier today (featuring the new track from Jens Lekman), I thought I too should share another talented Swede through the musical stylings of Musette. Musette is the music of Joel Danell, a talented multi-instrumentalist from just outside of Stockholm. His music is light and breezy but in the best possible way and his sound can be defined by its cheerful warmth and gentle sense of whimsy.

Coucou Anne is taken from his second album Drape Myself In Velvet which will be released this Fall and it captures perfectly the simple playfulness of Danell’s compositions. The hip-hop inspired drum rhythm on this track in particular is what makes it for me, it’s such simple fun that it’s bound to brighten up your Monday where ever you are!

@Karen Cheers for the comment Karen, glad you like! You should definitely check out his debut album – Datum. It’s a compilation of compositions written over a year with each track title being a date. It makes for a wonderful listen from start to finish.

I didn’t know that he’s releasing a new album! ‘Datum’ is simply enchanting. In fact, I’m going to get reacquainted with it again.
