Traditionally, Friday’s are Alex’s day to showcase the rad spacesuits he finds in Spacesuit of the Week. So I thought it was quite fitting to feature the work of Guillaume Noiseux and his ceramic Space Capsules. These ceramic pieces seem to take their style cues from spacecraft panels, rocket modules, or even the gold you see on satellites that’s used for multi-layer insulation. The pieces are simple but exciting, using small details and bold color choices to really make them stand out.

I also thought it was interesting that these pieces are so huge. The way they were photographed doesn’t really give you a sense of scale, which is why I included the last photo of Guillaume working on them. These suckers are really big!

It’s like a cleaner, functional version of Brendan Tangs Manga Ormolu ceramics series. I like these, but dang, they are huge!

I Like them…. but the top lip on all of them really bothers me.
Makes them all look a lot like propane tanks.
