Another one of my favorite American artists is Kara Walker, who’s work has been tackling issues of racism, gender, sexism and sexuality in American culture. I’ve seen about 3 of her exhibits so far and her work only continues to get better as she goes. Her most recent exhibit just ended last week, it was titled Fall Frum Grace, Miss Pipi’s Blue Tale, which are based on her experiences in the Mississippi Delta. The exhibit features three new video installations as well as a number of graphite works on paper and hand-printed texts. Be sure to watch the video above to see what the exhibit was like and if you’re interested in reading more about it, you can click here.
