Alright, that headline isn’t entirely true, but a lot of the work of Santtu Mustonen reminds me of crafts… but they’re not. And that’s not a bad thing, it’s actually pretty cool how he gets all of these textures and shadows and details to look so perfect. I chose to show a lot of his more colorful work, but he’s also got some really clever animated GIFs and some beautiful 3D type that looks like brush strokes floating. It’s just rad that he’s bridging this idea between handmade and digital, recreating the subtleties of craft and trying to make them seem as real as possible.
