I used to be a big fan of Franz Ferdinand, I think a lot of us were at one point or another, especially with their first album. Their charm seemed to wear off on their second album, You Could Have It So Much Better, but I always did have a soft spot for one song off that album, Eleanor Put Your Boots On. It’s a sweet song that’s actually about Eleanor Friedberger from Fiery Furnaces, who FF lead singer Alex Kapranos has thing with.

They actually made a different version of this song to release as a single. It’s a lot peppier and “rocking” but in my opinion is pretty lame. This version with the piano is best, keeping it simple and beautiful. There was also a video for the song but it was pretty sad as well, so I opted to make some art instead.
