Speaking of accessories: I’ve been looking for new glasses lately, and came across Urban Spectacles, a Chicago-based company offering custom-made wooden frames. Exquisitely crafted to be sure, the company was born out of a break-dancing accident that destroyed a pair of vintage frames. Given a solid block of wood and a Dremel tool, Scott Urban created his first wooden eye-wear frame, and somewhat less intentionally, his company. Six years later, he’s still at it. His site features loads of frames in all different kinds of woods with accents including turquoise and slate, like the ones up top.
