The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Pavel Fuksa
August 13, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: The Desktop Wallpaper Project

I know it’s been too long since your last fix of desktop wallpapers so I’m coming through on a Friday afternoon to ease the drought. This week’s Desktop Wallpaper Project designer is a fella’ named Pavel Fuska, a Prague based designer who has an insane talent for creating old fashioned inspired imagery. But you’re saying to yourself, “hey! these don’t look very old!” And to that I say, “oh yeah, this is just a preview to the FIVE wallpapers I’m giving away next Monday.”
For this weeks wallpaper though Pavel has created Wikipedia Desktop History, which in my opinion is a stroke of genius. He took the dimensions of the wallpapers, such as 1920 by 1200, and then found interesting tidbits of info that happened in the corresponding year.
Aren’t you pissed you didn’t think of this first? Now let’s see if Wikipedia copies the idea!
Be sure to check back next Wednesday for the rest of Pavel’s designs.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.Love these. Thanks so much. Again, I love your website!
So clever, simple idea but quite effective, nicely done Pavel.
These are great, but the baseball fan in me must point out that Babe Ruth was traded to the New York Yankees _from_ Boston in 1920. History!
I have a 27-inch iMac (oooh, get me). Would love to see one for my 2,560 x 1,440 res with sci-fi references :-)
PS Any chance of higher res wallpapers overall?
