Transparent Specimen

The specimens above are the results of a process that has made their bodies transparent, while various systems organ systems have been dyed bright, contrasting hues by Japanese scientists. I ran across images of the amazing Technicolor fish here, and thought I’d pass them along to you to enjoy.  (I should warn you that the page is in japanese and offers only a shaky translation at the bottom to explain what’s happened)

According to the page’s translator, the colored skeletons have become popular for use in home decor.  I’m not sure if this trend will swim across the Pacific to our shores, but I wouldn’t mind seeing these… in someone’s else’s home.
