La Cabane Perchée

A few weeks ago I wrote a post in which I detailed my dream to acquire a tree house for the back garden of my imaginary cottage. Since then I have discovered La Cabane Perchée and have completely dispensed with the idea of living in a cottage and instead decided that the tree house life is the one for me.

Founded by Alain Laurens, designer Daniel Dufour and carpenter Ghislain André, La Cabane Perchée turn childhood dreams of retreating to a private space high up in the trees into a reality. They aim to foster a sense of harmony between the host tree and the tree house that ensures that the design and construction carefully blends into the natural environment. Promoting eco-friendliness and sustainable living, this is an architectural style that I would love to see really take off.
