‘Sonar’ by Renaud Hallée
May 6, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Music & VideoA reader sent this video called Sonar to me yesterday and it definitely caught my eye. Made just with flash, the video seems to me like a graphic visualization of music, like if we needed to describe music with images instead of sound. It’s amazing how complex the video gets at the end, I love how the shapes start to align and pop, it’s such a rad effect. I could almost see something like this being a video game, though I’m not exactly sure how it would work.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive. Two games which instantly spring to mind are Bit.Trip (http://bit.ly/f2Cdd) and Shooot 2 (http://bit.ly/cyngXX).
Good eye — there have been a number of video games much like this, where you either hit things to the beat or line things up to be hit on the beat. Mostly iPhone ones, don’t know of any using flash :-)
Here’s an example of one such video game that is similar, but nowhere near as complex:

Is there a name for this song or the artist? Is it off a record? Really cool music.
it could totally be an iPhone app like Bloom!

This game came to mind when I saw this video.
love this, great find!
Every Extend Extra Extreme (E4), a video game that was released on Xbox 360 Arcade; along with other systems, is much like this video. One of the most addicting, beautiful and lush sounding games I’ve played.
