Xavier Encinas

May 5, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Design

Yesterday I came across the work of Parisian graphic designer Xavier Encinas after his new portfolio was being mentioned around the Twitterz. And with good reason, his work is made up of a lot of really strong branding and logo design.

My favorite was the work he did for Academy. Combining pastel orange, blue and yellow with black, and then placing them on natural cardboard, was a really nice touch. There’s also the fancy swirl on the top of the ‘A’ which gets rotated 180 to then become the ‘Y’ at the end of Academy. It’s a subtle touch but when the ‘A’ and ‘Y’ are combined they make an elegant mark.
