The Original Hipster
April 27, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Los Angeles & Photography
Last night on the bus this magnificent woman climbed into the seat across the way from me. I had to take a photo of her, she was just too amazing. I love how her outfit is like urban camouflage and she can blend into the fabric of the seat as well as the grey pattern below it. Taking her photo makes me want to start documenting the weirdos of Los Angeles public transit.

you’re not calling HER a weirdo, right?
I totally see Sienna Miller trying to pull this look off
Haha, Love it! Shave 45 years off her and she’d look like any young girl over here in the ‘burg.
I loved how you wrote this post up till the “weirdo” part. Kinda ruined it. :P
It’s like Queen Elizabeth in a M.I.A. video.
Just realized, you don’t have a ‘tweet this’ button here.
oh! she is a sparkling jewel. loving the mix of pattern, liza minelli, gold chains and taco bell. great shot
Nice! but why is she a weirdo???
DO IT!!!
weirdo? you jerks that’s my grandmother
i take the metro to work daily too and the people i come across are absolutely nuts! … i guess that includes me too. :\
I wish I had the balls to wear something that daring to Taco Bell.
I also believe that this woman, given her extreme pattern apocalypse outfit, would not give a shit if somebody called her a weirdo. She might even like it. It is amazing to me that everyone gets all sensitive to terms like that, when in fact, some people are trying to get a reaction out of an otherwise oversaturated satiated world and take incredible pride when another anonymous onlooker glances up from their iCrackberryPhonefacebookPad long enough to have an opinion.
Aaaahahaha – this is too perfect! XD
wow. i had a very similar experience which i documented here in december: http://teapeeandsaucers.blogspot.com/2009/12/when-i-am-old-man-i-shall-wear-purple.html
so glad you appreciate this too!
I often find myself coming into view of an oncoming seemingly hip young lady from across the street only to discover that she is in fact very old and very homeless as she approaches.
