‘Umbrella’ by Philip Vose

Umbrella is a short film created by Philip Vose for his character animation class at Cal Arts which is about a girl who takes a big risk for a chance at a better life. Well, the story is a bit more simple than that, but that’s pretty much the gist of it. I think that Philip did an amazing job of not only creating a sense of a world but also the fear and anticipation of making a potentially huge and life altering decision. We only see the main character for a minute or so but you can clearly see why she’s doing what she’s doing. And well the ending is like a breath of fresh, and I personally couldn’t stop smiling after watching this. Awesome job, Philip.
