Please Welcome Danica & Alex

A couple of weeks ago I posted a little note asking for some help with the blog. Like I said, I’ve got a full time job now plus a slew of side projects, so I needed another set of hands to keep up with the five posts a day that most of your are used to. Well, the amount of support I received was overwhelming and I ended up getting over 80 people apply to help out. From those 80 people though I’ve ended up choosing two to help me out, Danica van de Velde and Alex Dent.

First up is Danica, who was born in Hong Kong and currently lives in Perth, Australia where she’s finishing a doctoral thesis on the films of Wong Kar-wai. No big deal, right? She also runs her own blog called Oh, Hello There which was a big part of why I chose her. I think she has a great personal style, she’ll be able to breathe a female perspective into the blog and just seems like a really rad girl.

Then there’s Alex, whom I’ve actually known for a couple years now. I asked Alex to describe himself in a couple of lines and this was his answer, “Alex is an avid crafter with an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Although he has worked in New York, Copenhagen and Los Angeles, he now spends his days in Guntown, Mississippi working, taking night classes and plotting revenge. He is excited about the future.” I don’t think I could have said it better. Alex doesn’t have a blog but you can check out his great architecture photos on his Flickr.

I just want to say thank you to all of you who applied to help me out. I honestly couldn’t believe how many of you wrote me, it was immensely difficult to narrow it down. I hope you enjoy the inclusion of Danica and Alex as well, I think they’re going to bring new and different perspectives to the blog that will only make this place better. On a side note, I’ve added a ‘Posted by’ tag under the post titles, so you can now tell who’s posting what.

Please make our new guests feel welcome!
