Kitsune Noir Mixcast / No.031
April 9, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Kitsune Noir Mixcast

Well it’s another Friday and another Mixcast is here and ready for your listening pleasure. This week’s Mixcast features all electronic/DJ kinds of music which was influenced by my love of electronica in the late 90′s There’s some older stuff and some brand new stuff but overall I have to say this mix flows rather well. It’s also quite upbeat compared to my usual folk-y/emo style, so if you’re walking to work or need to get some work done, you might consider downloading this little guy.
I’d also like to note that yes, that is THE William Shatner halfway through the mix. Prepare to be startled and amazed.
Here’s this week’s tracklist:
We Will become Silhouettes (Matthew Dear’s Not Scared Remix) By The Postal Service
Electricity by The Avalanches
Jamelia by Caribou
Six Days by DJ Shadow
Together (Ft. Lemon Jelly) by WIlliam Shatner
Sweepstakes (Ft. Mos Def & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble) by Gorillaz
History Repeating (Ft. Shirley Bassey) by Propellerheads
Pagina Dos by Prefuse 73 & The Books
Echo’s Answer by Broadcast
I Slept With Bonhomme at the CBC by Broken Social Scene
Dream On by The Chemical Brothers
Out My Window by Koushik

hey bobby…
what do you use to put together the mixcasts? some friends of mine have been asking me to put together mixes for them and this seems like a good system.
thanks!
Sounds great, continuing a similar theme with this week’s mixtape. I’m in shokwith the William Shatner thing tough. Loely artwork by the way
(…)The always talented Bobby Solomon released a new Mixcast like every friday, number 31 in fact(…)
Very nice! Six Days by DJ Shadow is just one of those songs that will never get old.
@Jeremy – I use Garageband (Mac only) to put these together. It has a slight learning curve and some frustrations but once you get it down it’s pretty simple.
@Robert – Right? It’s definitely a classic.
Ha, okay that WIlliam Shatner track is pretty damn awesome. Who would’ve thought.
hey bobby, i love your mixtapes but for some reason i can’t download this one. when i’m at mediafire, it just refreshes the page each time i click to download. i can download the rest just fine. any other way i can get my hands on this 31st one?
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is amazing. I got on to them a couple years back. Their story is fantastic and their music is a dream to ear drums.
Hi Bobby I just discovered your blog in the last few weeks and really dig the wallpaper and mixcasts. Love the folksy bent but was sooo excited to hear upbeat/electronic mix… and now irony of ironies the Mediafire downlad isn’t working for me either :( Hope it’s just a glitch that gets cleared up. Anyone else successful?
Hi Bobby- Thanks again for another great mixcast. Are you familiar with Mux Mool? I’ve been following him via iso50.com. If you haven’t heard him, check him out.
Thank you so much for another wonderful Mixcast, you are so generous :)
never mind the buzzcocks! it’s working now!
i spoke to soon. it stopped after 1/3 of downloading.
@Liz – I dunno, it sounds like it might be your connection or something. I checked the file just now and it says it’s been DL’ed 988 times, so most people aren’t having a problem. I wish I could be of more help!
Great mix! I haven’t listened to The Avalanches in ages :)
