Parra Exhibit at Arkitip’s Project Space

April 5, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Los Angeles

Last Thursday I made kind of a late appearance to the new Arkitip gallery called Project Space for the inaugural show featuring Parra called Yes, Yes, Yes. I’ve seen some other photos of the show and it looked pretty packed, and the art itself was pretty rad. Parra just has this way of making these asinine sort of ideas look amazing.

It was also nice to see Scott again, he was kind enough to show me a pair of limited edition sculptures that I said I was going to steal. They weren’t sitting out during the show so get a gander at ‘em. It was also rad to meet Parra, who was totally down to earth. Finally it was great to meet my e-buddy Felipe Lima and his girlfriend Ashley. They were kind enough to take me home after a long night of drinks!

Tons of photos, like a whole lot, under the cut, so be sure to take a look.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. Awesome! I really like Parra’s work.

Those sculptures are made by Toykyo (www.toykyo.be), a Ghent (Belgium) based design collective. They gave a talk at my school last month, and they showed us how they made those sculptures. A fascinating process!

They also made this one: http://toykyo.be/productions/parras-fruitbeest

and this one as well: http://toykyo.be/productions/sculpture-parra

    Great stuff!
