A Love Letter For You: An Interview with Steve Powers

April 1, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Design & Illustration & Video

One of the most ambitious and amazing projects of the last couple of years was Steve Powers epic A Love Letter To You. If you’re unfamiliar with the project he’s teamed up with the city and residents of Philadelphia to create giant murals all over the city, creating beautiful pieces of art that look way better than your average tag.

In the video above he did a little interview with him about the project and he talks about his inspirations and the love he has for Philadelphia. It’s technically a promotional video so you’ll buy the book with images of the murals (which you should) but it’s always great to hear talented people speak about their work. Enjoy it.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. ESPO is the man! This whole project is just so amazing, would be great if it could extend out to other cities as well (I guess that’s our job right?).

  2. Sounds like a lot of BS to me. Cool project though. The sheer scope of it – building after building in color – makes it worthwhile on it’s own. I’ve heard locals complain they felt ESPO kinda hustled Philly into the commission, that he didn’t take it seriously, but they might just be haters.
