‘Je Me Figeais’ by Baptise Sola

February 25, 2010 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Video

Je Me Figeais, which translates to “I Stood Still”, is a short video created by French artist Baptiste Sola. What I really love about this video is how beautifully abstract it is, so the whole time you’re watching it you’re trying to figure out what exactly you’re looking at. That sounds like it might be annoying but I think it really works for this. It also has some amazing sound design as well which really helps set the mood of the video.

For the record, I think it’s a camping trip mixed with a construction site, but I’m still not 100% sure what I’m looking at. Sometimes I swear I’m looking at fire when it could very well be reflections. This ambiguity is what really makes this video awesome to me.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. Its either a forest or house on fire and people who are watching it burning down to the ground.
From my point of view the sound comes from the bystanding firetrucks.
