SALVO! by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes

Edwarde Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, one of my favorite bands of 2009, is releasing a 12 part music video series called SALVO! which is like an epic rock opera for our modern day times. So far only the two videos above have been released but this is looking like a huge project. Each video so far has been absolutely beautiful, with lush imagery of deserts and sunsets, telling the story of Edward Sharpe. They’re also pretty damn trippy, which makes them all the more fun

The videos are directed by Benjamin Kutsko and Cory Marrero and I think they did an excellent job. I’m definitely looking forward to more of these, even for th visuals alone which are amazing. It certainly helps that they also wrote one of the best albums of the year to score it with.

For that last line, don’t you mean that it does help? But anyways, I’m super excited for these as well, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros was one of my favorite albums this year. Any idea when the rest of these videos are going to be out?

For being super influenced myself. I can tell the directors liiked into “El Topo” and “The Holly Mountain”.
The videos and the music is great. Good pick.

I agree very “El Topoesque.” Its good to see Jodorowsky’s influence.
