Yo Lo Tengo on La Blogotheque’s Take Away Show

October 14, 2009 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Music & Video

One of my all time favorite bands Yo La Tengo recently did a Take Away Show for La Blogotheque, one of the best projects on the web. Walking around in Montmarte one afternoon they performed four songs, With A Girl Like You, which is a Troggs cover, Our Way To Fall, Sugarcube and Periodically Double or Triple, a song off of their new album Popular Songs. It really shows how little YLT needs to make these songs so beautiful. My favorite song of the bunch is Sugarcube, which is probably by far the best song they’ve ever written. I also love hearing Georgia go nuts with her drumsticks on a rug and a metal cart… lady drummers are the best.

  1. Fantastic video, thanks for posting up, I’d have never come across that even though my folks live in France.

BTW Blue Line Swinger rules. Period :)

  2. @Rob – Blue Line Swinger is probably the best 9 minutes of song ever, I couldn’t agree more. Electr-O-Pura was the first Yo La Tengo album I ever bought and will probably always be my favorite.

Adding more to the Red Cross logo seems like a step backwards. Isn't the cool thing to be JUST a symbol? http://t.co/ZNoSovSR
