Matthew Cook

October 12, 2009 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Illustration

I’m really enjoying the paintings of Matthew Cook, a British illustrator with a knack for loosely detailed images. His subjects range from pictures of houses to portraits of people, but it’s his war imagery that really grabbed me. They seem really simple, like he only used a few strokes to define most of it, but at the same time it feels like you could stare at these pieces for a while and keep finding interesting new details. Really incredible and completely effortless looking.
