‘I Can Be A Frog’ Music Video by The Flaming Lips

September 25, 2009 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Music Video

I’ve really been enjoying the new Flaming Lips album Embryonic quite a bit, in fact I’m daring enough to say that it might end up being my favorite album of the year. At times it reminds me of OK Computer, but with the diversity of a Velvet Underground album. I don’t really know what that last part means, but it’s a good thing.

Anyhow, they’ve released a video for the song I Can Be A Frog, which has guest… vocals, I guess you could call them, by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I think “making weird sounds” is a better description but the song is a cute one, though honestly the rest of the album really sounds nothing like this. Nonetheless, it’s enjoyable, I just hope they come out with some really crazy videos that really showcase the meaty songs off of the album.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. Truthfully, when I get the album this could become a track that I might routinely skip over. The ‘vocals’, as you say, remind me of ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 2′ – no screaming this time but a similar idea.

  2. This is a song I would play again, again, again and again. Probably organizing my pencil box.

Adding more to the Red Cross logo seems like a step backwards. Isn't the cool thing to be JUST a symbol? http://t.co/ZNoSovSR
