Justin LaFontaine

I spotted the image above on Alex Cornell’s blog a last week but then forgot about it and somehow came across it again this morning. I call this kismet, and thus I must post this beautiful piece of design. It was created by Justin LaFontaine about the climate change film, Up North. Design doesn’t get better than this, in my opinion. A big, beautiful photograph with some big, chunky Futura across the front of it. I’m sure this would catch your eye if you passed by this at the movie theater.

Awesome! I read this blog regularly, and my friends and I do a lot of illustration and design work here in Alberta. We’ve got a good scene of illustrators and designers who all play or HAVE played in some pretty kickass bands or at the very least are involved in the process, so the music and art community has a nice bit of crossover here. Justin is no exception to that, and he excels at both. It’s nice to see a friend getting props on a blog I’ve come to love and respect over the course of the last few years.
