Know Your Type

August 24, 2009 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Design

The folks over at idsgn have started a new feature called Know Your Type, which briefly discusses how some of the most important fonts came to be. Obviously most of us have seen Helvetica, but what about DIN or Futura? Any idea? I certainly didn’t. They’re 5 fonts deep so far, and each one has been pretty intresting. Did you know that Futura was the first font on the moon? Pretty funny since Kubrick ended up using it for 2001. Be sure to check out the whole series so far, lots of great info.

Click the following to read:
- DIN
- Verlag
- Futura
- Gotham
- Clarendon
