Toru Fukuda

July 10, 2009 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Art & Design & Illustration

I’ve had the wonderful illustrations of Toru Fukuda bookmarked for a while, but today seemed like a good to finally post about them. Toru is an illustrator living in Tokyo who has this wonderfully simple and almost childlike nature to his work. All of his characters have so much life to them, and his punches of color just make his work even better. His drawings remind me a lot of books I read as a kid, but I can’t think of anything particular it reminds me of. Nonetheless, his work never fails to make me smile.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. This reminds me a little of the giving tree. Something else, too, but I can’t think of what. Something with boats and trains comes to mind.
