Poolga

April 22, 2008 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Apple & Art & Design & Illustration

When I started doing the Desktop Wallpaper Project, I made the iPhone and PSP versions because I knew that I wanted to carry around these awesome images as well. But the DWP only comes out once a week, so if you’re ever in need of more backgrounds for your iPhone, head over to the folks at Poolga.

Poolga works on the same mantra that the DWP does, make awesome backgrounds for your iPhone. The ones above were created by an artist named Eika, or Karina Eibatova, an artist from Goteborg, Sweden. She’s just one of over 30 artists who’ve contributed, so you could basically have a new background every day of the month if you wanted. Definitely pop over and check out all the great images!

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. Hey, I am newbie to the iphone and actually only started using a MacBook in November. What is the easiest way to get the images onto my phone. Thanks for the guidance.

  2. The easiest way is to make a folder on your desktop, I labeled mine ‘Backgrounds’, and fill it with photos you’d like to use as your background. Then plug in your iPhone which opens iTunes.

In the iPhone menu in iTunes there are a bunch of tabs, you’ll want to click photos. Then tick the box that says ‘Sync photos from:’, and choose the folder titled ‘Backgrounds’ (or whatever you titled your folder). I choose to sync all of the images, then you should click the Sync button in the bottom right-hand corner.

There’s kind of a lot there, but it’s pretty easy, I promise!

  3. Bobby – thanks…that rocks. I was batting around the idea but did not realize that I can specify a certain folder for syncing.
