Instant Aojiru Tea
April 3, 2008 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Food & Drinks

The Japanese are always coming up with new and exciting ways of doing things, so seeing these instant green tea bottles by HW Styles, called Aojiru Tea (literally “green juice”), makes me want to move there and experience more stuff like this. Their idea is simple, you twist the top cap of the bottle and a 1.4 gram drop of Kyoto matcha green tea drops in. You shake it around until it dissolves and voila, instant green tea. But $2 for such a small serving seems kind of steep to me, no matter how fresh and instant the tea may be. Still though, a fun and interesting concept.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.actually that isn’t a bad price for the serving for japan. All the servings over there are tiny, and the largest drink at many retaurants is the size of a kids cup here in the states…..to us maybe pricy, but in japan its pretty normal…
I agree with Tim that perhaps us considering that portion to be small is just our western consumerist culture showing through.
I do really like the idea and the diagram!
It actually reminds me of a prank I’ve seen a few people do where you sneakily hide a mentos in the cap of a 2L bottle of soda.
I totally agree with the difference in portions relative to where you are in the world. I hate that we have these GIANT servings of everything here in America.
we have the similar thing in France : http://www.boiredelo.fr/fr/home.php
I tried once and it is not bad !
