It caches your latest tweet so when twitter goes down, your blog doesn't become affected. I’m not sure of the method you’ve been using to display your twitter feed but I’ve been using the simpletwitter wordpress plug-in and it does a good job. I think it works as an interesting web "broadcast" tool, but I don't feel its successful on the mobile phone.
