Why New Yorkers Last Longer by Clive Thompson

I found this awesome article from New York Magazine and I really enjoyed it. As the title says, the article talks about why New Yorkers last longer than people from other American cities. Right now the average age of a New Yorker is 78.6 years old. Why is that?

Well there are a lot of factors that go into it, but the one I found most interesting is on the second page of the article. It talks about how New York has become the best walking city in the U.S., and how it makes “people to walk, to climb stairs—and to do it quickly.”
So basically, the city becomes a giant gym, where everyone is pretty much exercising all day long. But people don’t really think about it like that, they’re just trying to live their life.
