Dual Music Player by Yong-Seong Kim

August 14, 2007 - By Bobby Solomon - Category: Music & Technology

I took a product design course at Art Center a couple years ago, and one of the projects I was given was to create a CD player. I thought it was interesting project because of the fact that CDs are basically becoming obsolete. The iPod/iTunes is definitely the choice of most young people these days, and I have a hard time seeing either of those going away anytime soon.
Anyway, what you see above is a CD player and MP3 player combined into one device, allowing you to keep your entire music collection with you at all times, but giving you the option to throw on a CD as well.
A very fun project, executed extremely well.

If you've got something to say, keep it positive.
  1. It’s a cool idea, but it seems really impractical. The CD could get damaged so easily being exposed like that, so you couldn’t really carry it around, only if you were playing an MP3. I guess it’s more for stationary use?
